2014: realize

realize v.*

1. a. to bring into concrete existence: ACCOMPLISH
b. to cause to seem real: make appear real

2. a. to convert into actual money
b. to bring or get by sale, investment, or effort

3. to conceive vividly as real: be fully aware of

It's not a beautiful, poetic word like "bloom", but the more I think about it, the more it seems like the right word for this year. I have so many dreams and ideas and plans that need to be converted into something real. This is the year for that.

I'm not going to let go of "bloom", though. I think it, like Joy, is here for the long haul. They are part of who I am and I am glad of that. I am glad to be able to understand that and to be able to focus my attention and my intention.

What about you? Are you focusing on a word (or words) for the year?

  2. That's a good word Anne. My word for 2014 is Persevere. I give up on things far too easily and really need to see things through.

  3. You picked a good word for action! As beautiful as bloom and joy are they don't have the same internal weight as realize to our intentions. Thank you for visiting my blog in 2013 and leaving such nice comments. Best of luck realizing all your dreams this year!
